The Role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Cashier or Senior Legal Cashier to provide temporary support to a busy law firm finance team.
This is a hands-on role and we need somebody who can get up to speed quickly, so previous practical experience using Aderant is essential.
You will be supporting the day-to-day cashiering function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules and the firm's internal financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
• Processing client and office account transactions
• Client account receipts and payments
• Bank reconciliations and monitoring client account balances
• Processing electronic payments and transfers
• Dealing with billing, disbursements and matter-related financial transactions
• Identifying and resolving cashiering queries and discrepancies
• Maintaining accurate financial records within Aderant
• Supporting month-end and other finance processes as required
• Liaising with fee earners, partners and colleagues within the finance team
• Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal procedures
What We're Looking For
You will need:
• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier, Senior Legal Cashier or Client/Office Cashier within a law firm
• Strong hands-on experience of Aderant – this is essential
• Good working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
• Experience dealing with client and office accounts
• Strong reconciliation and financial administration skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to work independently and quickly become productive
• Good communication skills and confidence dealing with people across a law firm
Previous experience within a large commercial, national or international law firm would be particularly useful.
